Our work brings us into contact with many forms of metal frames and we endeavour to resolve our individual clients' needs.

The refurbishment of Crittal frames for modernist buildings can ensure major savings for our clients as well as keep the integrity of the building. This usually involves de-glazing, removal of frames, sandblasting, cutting out rusted sections and welding in new ones before applying a comprehensive paint scheme to ensure good durability. This typically consists of 2 coats each of cold galvanising primer, red oxide and undercoat. This is usually finished with one coat of gloss for the client to finish coat when putties have dried sufficiently.

Opening hoppers in Ecclesiastical buildings can be repaired or have new made, as appropriate, pulleys and chords replaced and re-glazing done, reinstating air flow within the building.

Pic. 1 - Various metal frame types for stone or wood can be made or repaired in wrought iron or mild steel. Furniture replaced and re-glazed. Bronze frames and furniture restored and reproduced.

Pic. 2 - Fabricated zinc frames 3.6 by 1.3 metres. Building settlement had caused extensive buckling of single piece frames. De-glazed, frames removed and sandblasted to remove old paint, flattened and joints repaired before painting and re-fixing.

Pic. 3 - Mild steel frames with Stainless Steel rods with and mounting plates. Frames suspended from rods via purpose-made fittings onto beam above false ceiling. Each panel and frame circa 100 kilos .See link for Garden Glass to see our development for outside panels using traditional methods of stained glass fixing but developed for contemporary use.

Pic. 4 - This unusual panel in a listed grade 2* Fulham house was fabricated in cast and chased lead pieces. It had been fixed on one side of a glass sheet to the wooden frame. The panel was removed and new pieces chased or formed, weak joints soldered and the reshaped restored matrix was cleaned to remove paint splashes before refitting.
