A Period pair of Modernist semis. Salt air had caused deterioration of the metal frames (which were directly-glazed into the brickwork) and the leaded lights needed some attention. The windows were removed room by room to minimise disruption to the clients, deglazed, sandblasted and metalwork restored by welding-in new sections before galvanising, red oxide primer, a undercoat and gloss being sprayed on before refitting and re-glazing.
Brush painting was used on half of the coats to ensure good build up of paint on critical areas. The plain glass was toughened in line with current glazing regulations. We restore Crittal frames for discerning clients who want to preserve the design integrity of their home as in this case which lay within the Conservation Area.
